Collection Defense
Arkansas law provides specific protections for debtors, but people must act quickly. Under Arkansas Rule of Civil Procedure 12(a), defendants have only 30 days to file an Answer, and out-of-state defendants have 60 days. Missing this deadline can result in an automatic default.
For credit card debts, the statute of limitations is 5 years for written contracts and 3 years for open accounts, potentially giving our skilled attorneys opportunities to challenge the validity of older claims. We are a member of the National Association of Consumer Attorneys and frequently deal with these cases.

“I highly recommend this law firm.”
“Chuck is clearly one of the most experienced lawyers in Atlanta and also the most understanding of situations. He took my case, handled it with breeze and made me feel confident through the entire process.”
With experience as a former judge, we understand how cases are evaluated from every angle and use that knowledge to your advantage.

What to Bring to Your First Meeting (and How to Prepare)
Whether you’re dealing with a contract problem, a family matter, an estate question, or a dispute that may end up in court, a little preparation can make your first consultation far more productive. When you come in with the right documents and a clear timeline, we can quickly identify the key legal issues, spot potential risks, and outline practical next steps for your Little Rock matter.
Helpful documents to gather
A written timeline of what happened (dates, names, locations, and what was said or agreed).
Contracts, agreements, or receipts—including amendments, add-ons, invoices, and proof of payment.
Messages and communications such as emails, texts, letters, and social media messages that relate to the issue.
Court papers if you’ve been served or have an upcoming hearing (summons, complaint, motions, orders).
Photos, videos, and screenshots that show damages, conditions, or key events.
Names and contact info for witnesses or anyone involved, including businesses or insurance representatives.
Questions to think about before you meet
What outcome do you want most (and what outcomes are unacceptable)?
Are there important deadlines coming up (court dates, notice requirements, contract deadlines)?
What facts are certain—and what parts are unclear or disputed?
Do you have any prior agreements, settlements, or related cases that might affect this issue?
Tip: Bring everything you have, even if you’re not sure it’s relevant. It’s usually easier (and cheaper) to review a complete set of documents once than to track items down later after time-sensitive decisions need to be made.
